TRACK and FIELD: Boys take second at Timberlake Invite

SPIRIT LAKE — Asher Williams, Ireland Grady, Asha Abubakari and the Bonners Ferry girls 4X100m relay took first place at the Timberlake Invitational on Friday, April 26.

Williams took first in the high jump at 5–8 and Grady took first in the 100m at 17.10. 

Abubakari, the 3A defending state discus and shotput champion, took first in the discus with a throw of 129–10. 

The Bonners Ferry girls 4x100 relay team, Ireland Grady, Eva Willis, Maddie Hart and Taren Bateman, took first with a time of 52.57.

Placing second for the Bonners Ferry boys was, Eli Newell in the 100m with a time of 11.55, Milan VonBuskist in the 400m at 53.94, Ryland Meador in the shot put at 43—1, Newell in the high jump at 5–8 and Logan Archibald in the triple jump at 40—2.

Placing second for the Bonners Ferry girls, was Taren Bateman in the 100m and 200m with times of 13.34 and 27.72, Asha Abubakari in the shot put at 39—10, Markynn Pluid in the high jump at 4–8 and Brenly Hymas in the pole vault at 8–0. 

Timberlake boys took first for the team title at 141 to Bonners Ferry 122.5, with Timberlake girls also winning 169 and Bonners Ferry taking third at 125. 

Timberlake also won the girls team title with 169 points.
