Auditions for “Resonance,” an international men’s choir with singers from Creston, B.C., Bonners Ferry, and Sandpoint will be held Thurs. May 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church on Cody Street in Bonners Ferry.

“RESONANCE” is conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson. The season runs May 9 to June 13 and Sept. 5 to Oct. 10. This year’s concert is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 10-13. The choir will break then until next spring. Rehearsals will be Thursday nights at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

No preparation is required for the audition. The singers will be asked to sing simple warm ups, 60 seconds of the song of their choice a cappella — which could be just “Happy Birthday,” and play a tonal memory game. The ability to read music is not required but if the singer can read, a simple sight singing exercises will also be offered.

RESONANCE will share this year’s concert with BOUNDLESS, a small select vocal ensemble also conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson. The concert is called “Ancient Voices: landscapes of the human heart.” It celebrates the many ways our planet speaks to the human experience in song, photography, and poetry.

If a different audition time is required please contact Vicki Blake Thompson at vickiblake1@mac.com to set up a separate time.
