Facts needed checked in Barack Obama letter
I find it surprising, to put it mildly, that the Herald saw fit to publish Janney Chandler's letter to the of Dec. 6, without doing a little basic fact-checking. For instance:

The letter written by Janney Chandler entitled "Don't Elect a Muslim as the Next President?" in the Dec. 6 edition of the Bonners Ferry Herald is a display of hate and ignorance.
Isabell Allured turned 1 on Dec. 19.
She is the daughter of Steve and Deanna Allured.

The Badger wrestlers lost last week to Post Falls 60-12.

Shirley Robbins, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, with her daughter, Sandy, and grandson, Paul, by her side knowing she was dearly loved by her family.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Dec.16, 2007, in celebration of her life.
Former Bonners Ferry resident Ellen Bernice Allenberg, 73, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Avalon Care Center in Spokane, Wash.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home with burial at Grandview Cemetery.

Robert Darral Holmes Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at his Round Prairie area home north of Bonners Ferry after a long battle with cancer.

Let our silence be considered approval as Mike Weland stated in his guest opinion of Nov. 29.
I thought it might be prudent to once again argue the case for property rights on behalf of the Boundary County Property Owner Association and all those concerned with one of the most basic human rights.

Breanne Elsberry, 15, passed away at her home on Dec. 14, 2007, as a result of a house fire.

Tranquility and trust abound when first we, as individuals and a community, expect, seek out and "hold these truths to be self-evident."
Marian Vandenberg from the Three Mile area has been selling Avon for 40 years.
During 33 of those years, the 78-year-old has been recognized for selling more than $10,000 worth of Avon. She was elected to the President's Club for doing so and received the Mrs. Albee Award for each of those years.

Charles "Clint" Clinton Chamberlin, 84, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at his home in Bonners Ferry.
It sure is looking like Christmas at Delores and Rick Riekenas' home at 6528 Madison at the top of South Hill.
Delores said they didn't decorate as much this year because of her husband's work schedule. New to this year's display are Christmas trees that play holiday music. The Riekenas invite residents to stop and listen while viewing their display of lights.
