BFHS Alpha+ Robotics
Bonners Ferry High School is pleased to announce the formation of Alpha+, the first robotics team. The robotics team will compete in the regional competition in Portland, Ore., from Mar., 1 through Mar. 3, 2007. Alpha+ was first founded in 1989 in Manchester, New Hampshire, to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Since then it has expanded to a national competition where thousands participate. Alpha+ recently received grants from the Murdock Charitable Trust and NASA, which puts us in a great spot to begin our team. Even with the funds from these two charities, we will still need more assistance to make it to Portland. With limited experience, we are trying as a group to find out what we need to do for our robot to be operational.
