Badger tracksters compete in Lewiston
The Bonners Ferry High School track team traveled to Lewiston, Idaho for the annual Ice Breaker Invitational Track Meet on Saturday, Mar. 17. The weather was warm and sunny, and many athletes were able to post personal bests.

Lois Ann Bennett, 70, of 1570 So. 4th St. Dayton, Wash., passed away Mar. 15, 2007 at the Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Wash.
Lacrosse team takes a double loss
What a difference a week makes. Last week the Bonners Ferry lacrosse team played in three jamboree games at Gonzaga Prep, and won two games and tied Sandpoint in the other game.

The Bonners Ferry High School baseball team traveled to Orofino for the second consecutive weekend to compete in warmer and drier conditions. The Badgers came away from Orofino taking third place in the tournament.
Volunteer ambulance thanks community

2007 Badger baseball season
The 2007 Badger Baseball season started last weekend with four games at the Orofino tournament. The Badgers came away with two impressive wins blanking 3A McCall Donnelly 10-0 in the opening game and in the final game beating host 2A Orofino 15-0 in 6 innings. Overall the team played extremely well considering they had not been outside to practice until the first game on Friday.

C.J. and Tiffany Tuma announced the birth of baby girl Natalya on Feb. 13, 2007 at 8:43 a.m. at Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint. Natalya weighed in at 6lbs, 6oz and was 19" long. She has a 20-month brother Seth.

West boys beat East in All StarMULLAN — Coeur d'Alene guard Calvin Peterson earned MVP honors as the West blazed past the East All-Stars 108-66 in the District One All-Star Game at the Mullan Pavilion on Friday night. Both teams opened the fast-paced game hitting shots quickly as both teams moved out to a 22-22 tie after the first quarter. In the second, Peterson would score six straight points as the West team went on a 13-0 run midway through the second quarter to stretch the lead to 49-36 at the half. During halftime, Timberlake guard Felix Schreier made 8 of 10 three-pointers to win the 2007 Three-Point competition, while Post Falls Trojan Brandon Hass soared above the pack to win the Slam Dunk contest. Shirley Ann Tomlinson passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2007 at her home in Twin Lakes Village, Idaho, with close family and loved ones by her side. She was 83. Known in the Village as Annie, she was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and a wealth of friends. Shirley Ann was born in Denver, Colo., April 20, 1923, to Margaret and Earl J. Hupp.

As expected, the Bonners Ferry Badger boys clinched the Intermountain League Championship on Tuesday, Feb. 20, for the chance to compete at state. What was unexpected was who they played.
