Lavon Williams, 79

Lavon Williams, age 79, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, passed away on Nov. 27, 2020, in her home, surrounded by family. She was born on Dec. 21, 1940, in Sturgis, S.D., to Leroy and Evelyn Outka. Raised on a family ranch near Union Center, S.D., Lavon graduated from Sturgis High School and later from nursing school.

For 15 years, Lavon worked at the Sturgis Memorial Hospital, and in 1990, she moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where she worked at the Boundary Community Hospital. Lavon was well-known for her love of dancing and her passion for gardening. Every summer, she spent her free time outside, tending to her vegetables and gifting them to her family and friends.

Lavon was married to Art Morin for 20 years, and together, they enjoyed square dancing, playing dominoes and spending time at the local senior center. Lavon had three children: Anthony Urbaniak, Robert Urbaniak of Idaho, and Teresa Farrens of Vermont.

Lavon was preceded in death by her son Anthony, her parents Leroy and Evelyn, and brothers, Randy and Tommy Outka. She is survived by her sister, Lois, and her children, Rob and Teresa. Lavon will be greatly missed by all who knew her and remembered for her constant strength and positive spirit.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, at the senior center starting at 2 p.m.
