2022 Idaho Forest Stewardship Educational Programs

| February 24, 2022 1:00 AM

Roughly 40 percent of the forests in Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, and Benewah counties are owned by family forest owners. Over the next year, University of Idaho Extension is again conducting a series of 30 forestry educational programs at over 40 locations throughout Idaho, to help strengthen family forest owners' abilities to manage their forest land and to meet their goals.

Topics in this year’s Strengthening Forest Stewardship Skills series include: forest management planning, forest ecology, homesteading, forest insects and disease, tree identification, tree planting, backyard forestry, thinning, pruning, stream restoration, and more.

Calendars listing specific program dates and locations are available at local University of Idaho Extension offices and can be downloaded at uidaho.edu/extension/forestry/programs - click on “Strengthening Forest Stewardship Skills.”

Detailed information on each of the programs is posted on the University of Idaho Extension Forestry website six weeks ahead of each program. For more information on specific sessions in the series, contact Chris Schnepf at 208-292-2525, Audra Cochran 208-885-7718, Randy Brooks at 208-885-9663, or Bill Warren at 208-476-4434.
