Badger volleyball is 9-7 after two losses

BONNERS FERRY — After losing two sets against the Kellogg wildcats, the Badgers rallied in set three, but fell short in set four resulting in a Kellogg win.

In set two, the Wildcats beat the Badgers 23-12. In the third set, the Badgers came back and made a large deficit for Kellogg. The Badgers took the win 25-11.

Since volleyball matches are best of five, the Badgers had the chance to go one if they won game four. The game was back in forth until it was 18 all. The Wildcats gained some distance, but the Badgers caught up making it 23-24 for Bonners Ferry.

Kellogg scored the final point gaining 25 and ending the game. Badger volleyball is 9-7 and plays Timberlake at home next Tuesday.

CLARK FORK — Badger fell to the Clark Fork Wampus Cats Monday, Sept. 26, 25 winning 2-3.

25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 9-15.

The Badgers started strong winning the first set, but it was a tight battle with the Wampus Cats going on to win the next two sets. The Badgers won the fourth set with a six-point lead, but fell in the final set, giving the Wampus Cats the 3-2 advantage.

Helene Rae led the Badgers with 13 kills. Asha Abubakari had six. Emma Lucas had five aces, 26 assists and one solo block.

Avery Bayer had 11 digs, Rae had 10, Abubakari had nine and Emma Lucas had eight.

The Badgers participated in a volleyball tournament in Spokane over the weekend and the Badgers beat the Libby Loggers 3-0 on Sept. 22.
