Camping now prohibited at county boat ramps and Riverside Park

| April 24, 2025 1:00 AM

In an effort to keep county facilities welcoming and accessible to all users, Boundary County officials recently amended a county ordinance to reflect that camping is now prohibited at certain county-owned facilities.

“No Camping” signs have been posted at the following county properties: Deep Creek Loop Boat Lauch, Rocky Point Boat Launch, Copeland Boat Launch, Porthill Boat Launch, and at Riverside Park.

The change was made due to camping congestion that interfered with the use of the facilities for their primary purpose. County officials continue to invite campers to use nearby designated camping areas instead, which enables the county facilities to be enjoyed by everyone.

The provisions of County Ordinance 2025-2 that did not change and remain in force on the county properties listed above are as follows: discharge of firearms of any kind is unlawful; animals must be leashed, cannot be left unattended, and animal waste must be cleaned up and disposed of in a trash can; and “loud or obnoxious” noises (including generators) are unlawful between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

If any of the county properties need attention from Boundary County maintenance, please call 208-946-7608 or send an email to maintenance@boundarycountyid.org.
