I had a dream last night …

I had a dream last night . . . maybe it was from the spicy pizza . . . but who knows where dreams come from? Anyway, I seemed to hear voices from a long way off:

“I am hungry and you didn't feed me … then you also cut back the SNAP assistance program.”   

“I am thirsty and you did not give me a drink … then you also took money away from the safe water program.”

“I am homeless and you did not invite me in … then you also restricted safe camping spots.”

“I am sick and depending on the only health policy I can afford … then now you want to take away that plan.”

“I am (unjustly) in a terrible prison … and then now, only one Congressman has come to visit me.”

There were other very faint voices, too … but I am 88 years old and hard of hearing,  I think it was about Veterans Affairs, Social Security and other complicated stuff. What a strange dream!  But who knows where dreams come from?
