Back to School Bash set for Aug. 23
Hope House is preparing for its annual Back to School Bash, a long-standing community event designed to give local students a strong start to the school year.
Scheduled for Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. The event offers children free school supplies, shoes for kids, bounce houses, a free barbecue, games, and more. The Bash is Hope House’s largest event and is powered entirely by donations and volunteers.
Organizers said that Hope House is in need of school supplies to include in the donations. Items needed include 100 pencils, 200 pink erasers, 800 pencil cap erasers, 200 glue sticks, 100 kid scissors, 100 2-inch binders, 100 Sharpies, and 200 college rule spiral notebooks.
The Hope House of Bonners Ferry is a local nonprofit organization managed by husband and wife, Eli and Anna Pine. Hope House assists individuals and families by offering necessities such as clothing, food, hygiene items and household essentials to those facing financial difficulties and are unable to afford basic needs.
