Curley Creek Fire awards Firefighter of the Year

The Curley Creek Volunteer Fire District Board of Directors awarded Jessica Allinger with the "Firefighter of the Year" award for 2024.
"Some people fight fires with water. Some fight fires with a shovel and dirt. You do it with a pen, paper, and your computer. You do it by selling cookies, raffle tickets, and securing grants to help fund the Fire District," the board wrote in a letter to Allinger. "Your dedicated and outstanding performance has not gone unnoticed, and you exemplify the best qualities that a volunteer firefighter can possess."
Allinger was recognized for superior performance and devotion to duty.
