Idaho Community Foundation launches 'Moment' campaign

| June 5, 2025 1:00 AM

Since 1988, the Idaho Community Foundation has granted $200 million to Idaho communities. To mark the milestone achievement, the foundation has kicked off a campaign that puts the power of giving directly into residents' hands.

Through its "$200M Moment: Make More Good Possible" campaign, the foundation is giving four Idahoans the opportunity to direct grants of at least $5,000 each to promising nonprofits in their regions. The initiative celebrates nearly four decades of partnership between the foundation and generous Idahoans who have supported causes ranging from small-town libraries and community theaters to food pantries, senior centers and youth mentorship programs.

"This campaign is about more than a number," said Steve Burns, president and CEO of the Idaho Community Foundation. "It's about celebrating our shared commitment to community and giving Idahoans the chance to directly support the people and programs that make life here better."

Idahoans age 18 and older can enter the contest from June 1 through July 30 at idahocf.org/make-more-good-possible.php. One winner will be selected at random from each of the foundation's four regions — East, North, South Central and Southwest — to direct grants to local nonprofits doing essential work in their areas.

Participants can also donate directly to the prize pool or to their regional Forever Idaho Fund to increase the impact of local philanthropy and help ensure communities maintain access to needed services.

The campaign highlights the crucial role that small to midsize nonprofits play in meeting community needs, from after-school programs that build children's confidence to food banks that ensure no neighbor goes hungry. Through the foundation's more than 700 charitable funds, Idahoans have collectively invested $200 million in grants and scholarships since 1988.

The Idaho Community Foundation has served as a trusted philanthropy partner for more than 36 years, helping Idahoans invest in the people, places and causes they value most. Now united with the Idaho Nonprofit Center, the organization works to strengthen communities through philanthropy, elevate nonprofit impact and connect residents to the heart of their communities.

The foundation's vision centers on making Idaho "a place of possibility where everyone contributes to thriving communities." More information is available at idahocf.org or by emailing info@idahocf.org.
