Museum offering free admission on Saturday
The community is invited to step back in time and explore Boundary County's history in a free day at the museum on Saturday.
The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is sponsored by Cal and Barb Russell. Admission will be paid by the Friends of the Museum.
Located at 7229 Main St., Bonners Ferry, the museum showcases the community's rich history and the indigenous Kootenai Tribe.
The museum opened in 1974 in the library's basement. In 1986, it found a new home in the Houck Building on Main Street. Twenty years later, the Boundary County Historical Society purchased the building, giving the museum additional ability to showcase the region's history and add additional exhibit.
The museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2 per visitor or $5 per family, with free entry for BCHS members and children under 14.
