Boat launch closure extended

BONNERS FERRY — The Deep Creek boat launch closure has been extended through May 28 because of construction material delays, Boundary County officials advised Wednesday. 

The launch at the Deep Creek confluence with the Kootenai River will remain closed during Memorial Day weekend. Boaters can use the alternative launch at the Search and Rescue headquarters on Riverside Street, about 3 miles upriver.

The county closed the boat launch earlier this month to make improvements to the boat launch and better serve boaters this coming season.
