Boundary County Middle School prepares for the end of the year!
With just about a month remaining, BCMS is wrapping things up in preparation for the end of the year! Seems just last week school was beginning and students were eager to test their new classes and meet new people. Now students and staff alike are looking outside, seeing the nice weather, and eagerly awaiting their opportunity to spend time in it more often. The school meanwhile is continuing on and beginning preparations for next year based on what we learned this year. With that said, we have a ton going on to end the month so read on to stay informed …
Badgers drop game 8-27 in Moscow
The Badgers football team lost in Moscow 27-8. Seven players did not play due to injury or illness during Friday’s game. Chase Mellon scored the touchdown for the Badgers and the two point conversion.

Do you have students in grades 7, 9, or 11 who plan to participate in sports, including cheerleading, in the upcoming school year? Then according to the Idaho High School Activities Association, these students will need to have a physical before the first practice starts. This also applies to those students who are new to the sports program who did not have a physical last year, even if in grades 8, 10 and 12.
Robert L. Mize Jr., 63
Robert L. Mize Jr., 63 passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at his home due to complications from lung cancer. He died quietly in his wife, Sandra’s arms.
Novinger Music and BFCO concert on Sunday
Novinger Music Center, in collaboration with some members of the Bonners Ferry Community Orchestra, will present an exciting concert this coming Sunday at 2 p.m., exclusively featuring music by Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809), Classical-Era composer.

Walking in the tracks of dinosaurs
Walking on a trail near Moab, Utah, I stepped over some large depressions in the bedrock but quickly stopped and realized that these were more than depressions, these were dinosaur tracks. Not the well-defined tracks I had envisioned but what 18 ton creature leaves detailed footprints in the mud. I could stand with both feet in a track and still have extra space.
Reward increased to $25,000
A Porthill gas station has raised its reward from $10,000 to $25,000 in hopes of learning who did thousands of dollars of vandalism to a fuel tank early Wednesday, July 9.
