Successful communities are those where people live and work together in a civil manner and respectfully embrace differences. Through the democratic process citizens have the opportunity to choose community leaders and make decisions for the common good.

Excessive Heat Watch until 11 p.m. Friday

A stagnant mid-summer weather pattern will produce a multi day period of dangerously hot conditions over eastern Washington and north Idaho. Thursday will bring triple digit readings to all of the populated areas of the region. Some moderation is expected on Friday but temperatures will still remain dangerously high for outdoor activities. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued an Excessive Heat Watch which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening.
