BONNERS FERRY — The 4A Moscow Bears piled up 458 yards and seven touchdowns to beat the host Bonners Ferry Badgers 49-12 on Friday, Sept. 21.

Moscow scored twice on first-quarter TD passes, then had four touchdowns in the second quarter to open a commanding lead.

Bonners Ferry fared better after halftime, with rushing touchdowns by Donovan Varelman and Aaron Scott. While the Badgers had 210 yards of offense, BFHS was hurt by three turnovers and 120 yards in penalties.

Scott threw for 114 yards and ran for 56 yards to lead the Badgers (1-4). Varelman had 28 yards rushing and Jake Jelinek had four catches for 93 yards. On defense, Scott and Ty Bateman led Bonners Ferry with five solo tackles each. Bateman also snared an interception.

The Badgers play their final nonconference game on Friday, Sept. 28, traveling to St. Maries.
