Lenora Nelson, 98
Lenora Nelson, 98, passed away on Dec. 14, 2006 at the R & R Adult Family Home in Spokane, Wash. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with internment following in the Grandview Cemetery
Lenora was born on Sept. 28, 1908, in Sacred Heart, Minn., to Harbo and Denah Haagenson. In 1913, she moved with her family to Fortuna, North Dakota, to homestead and farm. She walked to school - which was two miles away.
On Sept. 7, 1933, she married Albert Nelson in Crosby, North Dakota. They lived in Fortuna until 1937 when they moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She was a stay-at-home mom to her only child, Marjorie Ann. She loved to sew, crochet, knit and braid rugs. There was always plenty of good food in her home. She enjoyed baking, dancing, playing cards and fishing with Albert.
In 2000, she moved to Nine Mile Falls, Wash., to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Even in her 90s, she continued to make quilts and crochet. In 2006, she moved to an adult family home in Spokane, Wash.
Lenora is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Letsch, her grand daughters, LeAnn Howard (of Bothell, Wash.) and Aimee Spence (of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) and four grand children, Jack and Davis Howard and Jacob and Emma Spence.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters: Earenest, Morris, Silas, Coral, Delilah (of Fortuna, North Dakota) and Durward and CorElla (of Bonners Ferry, Idaho).
She was a loving and caring person and will be dearly missed.
