Montana woman thanks Bonners Ferry Police officers for helping her out
This is the first time I have ever sent a letter to The Editor, but I just could not let this go by without a public thank you to the Bonners Ferry Police Department.
The City of Bonners Ferry can rest assured that your police department is very caring and competent. Two weeks ago, I was down there from Libby and my car died on the bypass and I could not get it started again. Thankfully, a very nice policeman (Mr. Alonzo) came to my rescue. Mr. Alonzo and another policeman pushed my car out of traffic and into a safe place.
I was on the cell phone to my son in Libby and he said he would rent a car hauler and come down and get me. Mr. Alonzo came back again to check on me before my son got down to pick me up. This was the day that the wind was blowing so hard and it was very cold.
After my son got there, we were having lots of trouble getting my car up on the car hauler by ourselves. Once again, Mr. Alonzo came to our rescue. He called for backup and they helped us get my car up on the car hauler and tied on safely. We would not have been able to do it without all of their help.
I grew up in Bonners Ferry and it will always be my hometown. I sell AFLAC insurance and have several clients down in Bonners, so I am down quite often. The city of Bonners Ferry can be as proud of their police force as I am. I lived in Spokane for over 30 years and can tell you that I probably would not have gotten that kind of treatment there.
Thank you so much Mr. Alonzo and all the other policemen (sorry that I don't know their names) that helped me and my son out that day.
