The doors for the Mount Hall Mega Auction open at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Mount Hall School. The auction, which starts at noon, benefits the Boundary County schools and coordinator Sharlene Anderson hopes for a huge turnout.

This is the third year for the "Mega" part of the auction, which came about when the auction got all the area schools involved instead of just a few, Anderson said.

Overall, this is the ninth year for the auction.

Last year, the auction raised more than $55,000 for the local schools and Anderson is hoping for even more this year.

The schools contribute gift baskets to the auction, and the community has donated hundreds of items ranging from vacation packages to sporting event tickets.

Anderson expects a crowd of 300-500 people at the auction.

"It's really fun," she said. There will be Papa Murphy's Pizza available by the slice at the auction.

The auction would not be possible without the 30-40 volunteers who help set things up, Anderson said. She pointed out Dave Gause and George Hayes for doing the auctioneering and Marty Becker for helping urge on the crowd.

This year, the auction has a different feel to it, she said.

"The baskets are different themes than we've had in the past," Anderson said.

Buyers can pay with a check, Visa or MasterCard.
