Gladys Orpha Dunn, 103

Gladys Orpha Dunn, 103, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2006. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Paradise Valley Cemetery with a Memorial Service following on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 11 a.m.

Gladys was born to William and Ethel Rockwell in Brainard, Minnesota on January 9, 1903. She was the oldest of six children, with two sisters: Mena and Pearl; two brothers Bud and Joe, and a sister Kitty who was six weeks old when she died.

In 1909 they moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where she attended Paradise Valley School. In 1916 they moved to Alberta, Canada. She met and married Thomas Armstrong in 1922. After marriage she and her husband returned to live in Bonners Ferry. They had three children: Kathleen, Mary and Bob. Thomas died in 1930.

In 1938 she married Harry Dunn of Bonners Ferry. They had a daughter Bette. In 1958 Harry preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters Kathleen and Mary; her son Bob; step son Jerry and granddaughters, Kitty Fiske and Roxanne Rutz and grandson Tim Fiske.

She is survived by her daughter Bette, eight grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren 18 great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Gladys would have been 104 years old in January of 2007. She lived a full and blessed life with a family who loved her very much. Our family wishes to thank you for joining us in a celebration of Gladys' 103 years. Memorial may be sent to the Panhandle State Bank for the Kootenai Medical Center "Circle of Love Hospice."
