Adam Hall wins Kaufman Open

The University of Nebraska, Omaha, hosted the 2006 Kaufman-Brand Open on Saturday, Nov. 18.

With more than 40 teams and 650 wrestlers competing, it is the nation's largest single-day collegiate meet in the nation.

Adam Hall, Boise State freshman, wrestled in the 20 and under amateur division at 149 lbs.

Following a first round bye, Hall scored a 6-2 decision over Wade Granger of Minnesota West Community College. In round three, Hall pulled out a 6-5 win in double overtime against Jordan Burroughs of the University of Nebraska.

Burroughs was a NHSCA Senior National Champion at 133 lb.

A hard fought battle with Curtis Salazar of the University of Nebraska gave Hall another win in overtime, 7-3.

In the semi-finals match, Hall decisioned Jeff Keske of Iowa Central, 3-2.

Then in the finals, in his third overtime match, Hall scored a takedown in the last 5 seconds, beating Willy Pendleton of Labette (Kansas), 7-5.

Hall's next competition will be the Southern Scuffle at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro on Dec. 29-30.
