BF wrestlers get Top Dog honors

Bonners Ferry sent 56 wrestlers to Sandpoint on Saturday. The 12 little guys won 15 blue ribbons and 17 red ribbons. Of the other 44 wrestlers 23 medaled.

All four guys wrestling in group five this weekend medaled. Isaiah Grey won gold at 125 pounds, Brandon Schmitz got bronze at 110 pounds, Benny Watt at 95 pounds won silver and Dustin Koehler got gold at 85 pounds.

Group four also did great this week with six of nine wrestlers medaling. The five that got gold are Rusty Britt at 65, at 70 pounds Joshua Tucker, Lily DeAragon at 75 pounds, Connor Bennett at 80 pounds and Blaine Invernon at 85 pounds. The bronze medal goes to Quinn Cummings in the 100 pound class. The other boys wrestling in group four were; Tyson Boorman at 75, Aaron Klaus in the 112 class and at 90 pounds Colton Redding.

Group three had 14 wrestlers and eight earned medals. Parker Davis wins gold in the 87 pound class, Cody Luckey in the unlimited class and Luke Reoch at 75 pounds win silver. The bronze go to Brenten Cordle at 55 pounds, Shawn Kimp and Kyler Rice at 80 pounds, Collin Stone at 85, and in the 70 pound class Riley Wall. Also wrestling hard Ben Boger at 112, Chase Hannahs in the 100 pound class, KC McGahuey at 60 pounds, Shawn Ryan at 75, in the 90 pound class Carl Svec, and at 80 pounds Gunnar Tompkins.

Medaling in group two we have Noah Cordle at 55 pounds with gold, at 70 pounds Kevin Gray wins silver and the bronze go to Andrew Clarkson at 65 pounds, at 60 pounds McGwire Ryan, and in the 45 pound class Elijah Thiessen.

Other group 2 wrestlers were Mason Eby at 45 pounds, in the 50 pound class Michael Brooks, Ryan Merritt and Kendall Stone at 55 pounds, at 60 pounds Bailey Calderone and Ryker Hittle. In the 65 pound class Isiah Lewis and Grant Pierson, at 70 pounds Chase Curtis, Jacob Fess and Evan Valance at 75, and Zach Bradley at 85 pounds.

Earning ribbons in group one were Isach Richards at 38 pounds, Denton Eby, Abby Eliassen and Matthew Morgan at 41 pounds and at 45 pounds Bryce Jones. At 47 pounds Kadin Rice, in the 50 pound class were Kenny Branson, Hunter Carlson, Jesse Fleck, and Seamus Ryan, who teched all three of his matches the last one 26-0. In the 55 pound class was Steven Svec and at 63 pounds William Blauvelt.
