Clean up the trash
I think everyone who lives in North Idaho would agree that springtime here is beautiful and comes so welcome after the long winter. The birds are back, everything seems fresh and new, the weather's getting nicer every day, etc…
In my eyes the only ugly thing about spring is how evident the litter problem is! I'm aware that this is a year round issue, it's just more apparent once the snow is gone. The sight of garbage along the roads just annoys me to no end.
I think people who litter are as disgusting as the garbage they leave behind. It says a lot about a persons character- or in this case, lack of.
How hard is it to toss that beer/soda can into your backseat or to hang on to that candy wrapper or empty fast food bag until you can dispose of it the decent way-into a garbage can?
I think I can safely speak for the majority of people living in Boundary County when I say the following—we aren't here for the fortune or fame.
We're here because simply put, it's a beautiful place to live. So my thanks and sincere appreciation goes out to those of you I see picking up after others and doing what is everyone's job-keeping Boundary County the beautiful place it is. If you're guilty of littering, I ask that you start showing some pride in our community (and country for that matter!), respect for the beauty of "our home", and stop trashing the place, literally.
