An ultralight pilot suffered minor injuries after his plane crashed into a metal shop near Naples last Wednesday.
The accident happened at about 4:45 p.m. on Upper Twenty Mile Creek Road.
Pilot Bert Wolf was alone when the plane crashed into a metal shop owned by Adam and Kelly Ellis.
"It looked like it was going to land in one of our fields but crashed through the metal siding of our shop," Adam Ellis said.
The couple noticed the plane was flying toward their property while they were playing outside with their children.
Wolf clipped a wing on one of the electric poles before plunging through the side of the building.
Dave Wattenbarger, a neighbor, said prior to the crash he saw Wolf circling the area in the ultralight.
Wolf was transported to Boundary Community Hospital with unknown injuries, but according to a hospital spokesperson, he was released that same day.
Sheriff Greg Sprungl and Boundary County incident commander Bob Graham asked the Ellises to leave the crash site undisturbed until the FAA could evaluate the scene.
South Boundary Fire Department began applying absorption materials to the areas where the fuel had spilled onto the concrete flooring inside the building.
