Ora Frances (Franny) Davidson, 91
Ora Frances (Franny) Davidson, 91, passed away on March 31, 2007 at the Community Hospital E.R. in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with private interment following. A luncheon provided by the ladies of the church will follow the service.
Fran was born January 31, 1916 in Lake City, Iowa to Clyde Earl and Mary Estella (Coates) Howe.
She moved to Bonners Ferry as a young woman to reside with her aunt and uncle, Alice and Floyd Howe. She entered the US Army, WAC on May 22, 1943 where she rose to the rank of Corporal, Dental Technician Fifth Grade.
She married Marion Duane John Davidson on August 31, 1946 and the couple made their home in District #1 on the family homestead. Fran worked with Marion and the family, farming and raising livestock until the Kootenai River flood of 1956.
The couple and daughter Linda, born in 1952, moved near Valley View School. Fran was active in ETC Club, 4-H, PEO, the school lunch program, the Hospital Auxiliary and most importantly Trinity Lutheran Church.
While Marion was in the state legislature, from 1961 to 1982, she was active in the Legisladies Organization, serving as President, and volunteering in numerous service projects, including Booth Memorial Hospital over the years, hosting Frank and Bethene Church, governors, legislators and most Democratic candidates. They both admitted however that most of their friends were Republicans.
Fran is survived by daughter Linda Tompkins and her husband Tony of Spokane, Wash., and two granddaughters Rachel Carpenter of Portland, Ore.; Sarah Tompkins of Spokane.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Marion Davidson.
