Joan Margaret Meeker Booth, 67
On July 26, 2007, Joan, faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, was called home to the loving arms of God after a courageous 53 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born March 13, 1940 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Robert and Blanche Meeker. Joan was a writer, piano teacher, former nursing student, Girl Scout leader and homemaker.
She supported her husband by creating loving homes as they were stationed about the globe, Alaska and Japan delighted her the most.
In turn, her devoted husband of 46 years, Richard, cared for her every need in her declining years, allowing her to remain in her cherished home surrounded by family, friends and her cat "skipper" until the sudden and unexpected end.
Caregivers Lavonne and Diane became a part of our family and treated Joan with love and dignity.
She adored and was uplifted by her faith communities of Faith and Light, Saint Peter's and the Inland Empire M.S. Society.
Until the end Joan never complained or felt sorry for herself, she was infused with joy and light.
She left an unfinished autobiography entitled "So What!" to be completed by her daughter.
She is survived by beloved husband Richard; loving daughters, Beth (Dave) Bakken, Lynda (Abbas) Booth, and Bobbi (Todd) Cobb; cherished grandchildren, Rob, Abigail, Jennifer, Andrea, Adam, Sam, Benjamin, Kaylee, Ryan, Isaiah and Ann Marie; siblings, Judy Shearer, Pat Steward, Dan Meeker and Jim Meeker, and special friend Fausto.
A Celebration of Life was held on July 30 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, a Funeral Mass was held on July 31 at St. Peters Catholic Church, 3520 E. 18th. Ave.
Donations of your time may be made in her honor to the Inland Empire Multiple Sclerosis Society to help ease the suffering of others.
