Charles "Clint" Clinton Chamberlin, 84, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at his home in Bonners Ferry.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry. Private burial was held in Grandview Cemetery.

Chamberlin was born on March 10, 1923, in Elkhart, Kansas, to William R. and Margery B. Cunningham.

He attended Bonners Ferry High School and was a resident of Bonners Ferry since 1935.

He married Doris Larson on Aug. 3, 1947, and they raised a family in Bonners Ferry.

Clint is a World War II veteran. He served in the African and Burma theaters. He was recalled to the Army for the Korean War and served in the United States.

He was a logger and worked at the sawmill through many owners before retiring in 1992.

In the 1970s, Clint ran a backhoe business in the Bonners Ferry area and later started an electrician business that served the Bonners Ferry area.

Clint always loved airplanes and flying. He was instrumental in many improvements at Boundary County Airport and was at the airport most of his senior years flying, working on airplanes and helping others with airplanes and flying. Clint continued to work through his 83rd year as he couldn't understand a person not having a job and being useful.

He was active in the American Legion and the Knights of Pythias, where he served in many local and national office positions.

Clint was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was a great husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and a great person to be around.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosella.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, of Bonners Ferry; his children Robert Chamberlin and his wife, Susan, of Chewelah, Wash., and Cynthia Morgan and her husband, William, of Indianola, Wash.; grandchildren Christopher, Bryan and Holly; great-grandson, Cade; brother, William Chamberlin and his wife, Drue; sisters, Sally Hodgins and her husband, Duane, and Lilly Whitson; and his nieces and nephews.
