A reproduction of an untrue and derogatory article circulating on the Internet slamming Barack Obama was printed in the Dec. 6 Herald.

Many people received this piece of garbage in our e-mail with the suggestion to forward it to everyone on our mailing list.

Janney Chandler chose to send it to the Herald and sign her name to it. I urge you to please check to see if there is any truth in those claims about someone you have never met.

The process to check for the truthfulness of such Internet crap is to go to Snopes.com. This Web site does research to see if claims are true or false. The site is available to everyone to use for reference and guidance.

You call Barack Obama a Muslim, yet he is really a Christian and is associated with United Church of Christ.

You said he used the Muslim Iran (sp.) during the swearing in ceremony to the House of Representatives. In fact, Baragk Obama is a senator and he used the Bible at the swearing in ceremony.

In the rest of the letter you submitted were conclusions and fears expressed because of the unsubstantiated rantings in the e-mail, which by the way, has been in circulation on the Internet for over a year now.

There have been too many falsehoods aimed at us these past 7 years, one of which has us engaged in a war which we cannot win, but our troops are asked to die for. Let us all demand more truth and stop forwarding unsubstantiated derogatory text on the Internet.
