P&Z Commission remembers Bucher

| February 2, 2007 8:00 PM

At the conclusion of their January meeting, members of the Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission paused for a moment to remember the many contributions made to their work by Julien Bucher, who died in a farming accident January 2.

"Before we adjourn," chairman Tom Hollingsworth told members, "I think we should make it known how much Julien Bucher did for us as a board and Boundary County planning.

He participated in the process for years, and for the past year he was one of the people who was there from start to finish while we worked through the Comprehensive Plan. He contributed a lot, and I for one am glad he took the time."

Hollingsworth went on to speak of the good judgment and reason Bucher brought to each meeting he attended, and members concurred, saying he brought a world of experience and knowledge to local issues, while never losing touch with the people and place he came from.

"He was a good neighbor and he did a lot for Boundary County," Hollingsworth said.
