National Soccer honors continue

| February 9, 2007 8:00 PM

Once again national honors visit the Bonners Ferry Girls' Soccer Team.

While in early January, Jennifer Putnam was selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association and again honored by the same N.S.C.A.A. and Adidas to the tremendous distinction as the Idaho Girl State Player of the Year 2006.

This week John Lindberg was informed that an additional award and congratulation for the local high school soccer team had arrived to honor Katrina Wastl — who was selected to the 2006 High School Girls All-Far West team.

Katrina represents Bonners Ferry as one of the 24 players in the Far West, which encompasses Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Hawaii and Alaska.

Katrina and the school will soon receive certificates for this fantastic honor.

Lindberg said, "To both of these superb student/athlets I can only add, thank you for your effort, dedication and team play."
