Fred William Lemmert, 52
Fred William Lemmert (Crazy Fred), 52, was born on Sept. 4, 1954 in Cumberland Md., to William and Irene Lemmert. When he was 14 days old his family moved to California, at that time he became the youngest person to fly across the U.S.
At age four, he won the All American Boy contest. That was the start of his life in Hollywood. He played Jesus in The Bible; he played in Andy Griffith, Ozzie and Harriet, I Love Lucy, Mr. Ed shows and many more.
His love for baseball ended his career in Hollywood. He played baseball through high school as a catcher.
Growing up on the beach Fred loved to surf daily. After school he joined the air force. In 1976, he started Inland Diesel. In 1981, he moved the business from California to Careywood, Idaho. In 1993, he became affiliated with Cummins Northwest and moved to Bonners ferry. Between 1993 to date, he became a Cummins warranty authorized dealer. He was very proud of his accomplishments with Cummins. Everyone that knew Fred, knows that he was a perfectionist with his work.
Over the years he accumulated a lot of knowledge for trucks and equipment.
That knowledge is going to be missed. When Fred wasn't turning wrenches he was working with his dogs. He started raising Australian Shepherds in the early 80's. He has met a lot of really good people through the dogs. In 1992, he met Danna Billingsley at Deep Creek Restaurant where she was working.
On Feb. 21, 1997 they were in married in Careywood, Idaho, at Lewis and Marylyn Shreffler's. In 1999, he had started taking his family to gospel meetings and made his choice. Fred had a lot of stumbling stones along the way but the changes in his life were very evident to many people.
Fred is survived by his wife Danna of Moyie Springs, Daughter Jamie Brindamour of Granite Falls, Wash., step-daughter Cassandra Lemmert, two sons, Christopher and Kirkalnd Lemmert of Moyie Springs, one grandson, Mason Brindamour, two sisters, Cathy Culver of California, Jean Nation of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
A Lemmert Family Memorial Fund is set up for the family at Panhandle State Bank. Evergreen School is doing a benefit spaghetti feed for the family on Friday, Feb 23, 2007.
