Korry B. Covert, 52
Korry B. Covert, 52, passed away in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18 in the Porthill Cemetery, Porthill, Idaho.
Korry was born on Oct. 20, 1954 in Rolla, N.D., the son of Ralph and Verneice Covert. He graduated from high school in Calvin, N.D. and worked as a firefighter at the PAR Site in Concrete, N.D.
He worked in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff and as a K-9 officer in North Dakota. For many years, he worked closely with his K-9 deputy, an imported German Shepherd named Villa.
Following his retirement, he moved recently to Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
He was known as "Kowboy" and enjoyed riding his horses and hunting with members of his family. His new hobby was "geocaching" and spending time with his friends Dave, Misty Rose and Marci Roberts.
He is survived by — his significant other, Debra and their three grandchildren Sage, Shaelynn and Jacob. Two sons Devin Covert of Mt Horeb, Wis.; and Tyson Covert of Bismarck, N.D. A daughter, Shantel Wiege of Lincoln, N.D., his mother, Verenice Covert of Bowman, N.D., two brothers Fred Covert of Panama City, Fla.; and Ron Covert of Bowman, N.D., and two sisters, Jeanie Gendron of Walhalla, N.D. and Carolyn Beranak of Cavalier, N.D. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives, close friends, a special cousin, Otis of Madison, Wis., and his faithful dog Shasta.
His father Ralph preceded him in death.
