Pool parking issues simple to remedy

| July 6, 2007 9:00 PM

The dog days of summer are here and the kids are in a hurry to get to the pool. And I am sure parents are in a hurry to get their kids to swimming lessons. Before you get out of your car, please make sure that you are in an actual parking space.

Since swimming lessons have begun this season, every day people have parked in our driveway or they block my car in. So in return, I am posting signs that warn drivers, if you park or block our driveway you will be towed. I understand that the parking at the city pool is something left to be desired however there are places to park that are not necessarily in our driveway.

You can park behind the pool. It is where the lifeguards park and you will not be towed.

If that place is full and you are finding that there are no places to park, (I have never seen this happen in my five years in this neighborhood), ask people that live in the neighborhood where a safe, non-towing place would be. This is a friendly neighborhood, if you do not park in someones driveway that is.
