Ladies golf update and fun day with Libby ladies golfers

The "ace of the month" for June was Evelyn Rae with a net score of 32. Other scores announced at the end of the month potluck meeting were low nets by flight won by: Annie Koon with a 35 for "A" flight, Blanche Studer with a 37 for "B" flight and Buzz Thiell with a 52 for "C" flight.

On Wednesday, July 11, nine ladies from the Cabinet View Golf Course in Libby, Mont., joined the Mirror Lake Ladies in a fun day of 18 holes of golf.

A game of "Beans" was played where each player was given 20 beans and either won or lost beans according to the game plan.

Results were: Donna Irons won the most beans with a total of 63, Polly Nosier of Libby came in second with 54 beans and Julie Williams was third with 44 beans.

There were three chip ins won by Etta Mae Schnuerle on the #4 hole, Evelyn Dinning at #9 and Betty Phalen at #6. Closest to the pin was Julie Williams at 3' 10"; longest putt by Etta Mae at 15' 3"; most accurate drive won by Lois Flaishe of Libby. Low nets by flight were: "A" Donna Irons, 66; "B" Alice Miller of Libby, 70; "C" Ruth Ann Wilson, 72.

Low gross scores by flight were: "A" Julie Williams, 90; "B" Anna Guthrie and Mitzi Smart of Libby, 119; and "C" Linda Bogdan, 132.

The ladies enjoyed a taco salad lunch with ice cream sundae deserts provided by the pro shop staff. The Mirror Lake Ladies will travel to Libby on Aug. 1 for their invitational game.
