As the sun shined brightly down on the football field, 96 seniors from the Bonners Ferry High School (BFHS) Class of 2007 completed the final milestone in their high school careers last Saturday afternoon.

After the students were seated, the graduation ceremony began with Rebekah Stonehocker singing the National Anthem and Principal Curt-Randall Bayer welcoming the students and their families.

This year the senior class was represented by three Salutatorians, Jillian Anderson, Andrakay Hoisington and Megan Plantz; and four Valedictorians, Zach Dugger, Devon Huggins, Rebecca Lowther and Bennan Tymrak, who shared humor as well as their personal insights and wishes for the future of the BFHS Class of 2007.

Teacher Dan Butler laughingly shared his memories of many of this year's graduating seniors and wished the entire class the best in all their future endeavors.

Just before the seniors received their diplomas, the crowd bid a final farewell to two retiring teachers, choir teacher Vicki Blake and Agricultural Teacher Jim Roland. Finally, with standing room only in the bleachers, family and friends cheered their seniors on as they were handed their high school diplomas.

Out of the 96 graduating seniors, there were 10 students ranked in the top 10 percent of their class, 27 named in the National Honor Society and three foreign exchange students.

The ceremony closed with the graduates tossing their caps into the air and a reception in their honor at the Boundary County Middle School.
