Community comes together to support Community Restorium
The community came together Sunday, in a strong show of support for the Boundary County Community Restorium, our County owned and operated assisted living facility. The clouds, parted and hundreds of people enjoyed an old time picnic and cook out in the Restorium gazebo and lawn.
There was music in the air — it raised the event to a higher level: Blue Grass and old time fiddle-Janet Sapp and family with special guest Doris Howard, Kathi O'Leary's original music, The Church of God Mennonite Choir, and the Kootenai Valley Mennonite Youth Choir sang hymns, Richard Hollenbeck played old time tunes. Employees at the Restorium deserve a special thanks- their enthusiasm and hard work is appreciated. Our gratitude goes to Ron at the Chic n' Chop, and women of the local churches in Bonners Ferry for their generous contributions of food and to Deb Bellmore for the raffle basket. People from all over the county donated their time and or resources. Special thanks to all of you!
This was the third annual picnic, it's a fun event and a great place to meet old friends, or, if you are new to Bonner Ferry, make new friends and, at the same time, support a very important local resource. We are already planning next years event-it will be bigger and better than ever-hope to see you there.
