In a brief announcement Tuesday, Welco of Idaho Plant Manager Rob Harrison, said the company is shutting down for two weeks.
"The shut down is due to market conditions and a shortage of logs," Harrison explained. "We will go back online July 9 with a reduced crew working 50 hours a week. This means we are cutting out approximately 75 percent of one shift."
Harrison added that the normal number of salaried and hourly employees at Welco totals 83, and even though the company is cutting back, there will still be about 60 people employed at the Naples location.
"I can not say when we will go back into full production, it will just depend on the market and log supplies," he said.
