Etta Marie (Patterson) Byrne

Etta Marie (Patterson) Byrne was born on Jan. 20, l909, in Lynch, Neb., to George H. and Emma (Bartels) Patterson. She passed away on June 18, 2007 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She attended schools in Nebraska and South Dakota and graduated from high school at Colome, S.D. in 1927.

She was a telephone operator in Nebraska, Idaho and Washington for approximately 35 years until she retired in 1971 and moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She met Edwin Byrne in Garfield, Wash., they were married on March 15, 1941 in Moscow, Idaho. Ed died on March 26,1983, and Etta was buried beside Ed in the Paradise Valley Cemetery on June 21, 2007 in a graveside service.

Etta is survived by two sisters; Myra (Babe) Troyer and Betty Marcy, both of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Also surviving are numorius nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters; Elsie Hysel, Jessie Dixson, Goldie Kuhns, Mabel Scholl, Letha Schroeder, Naomi Shurtlieff and Cora Sinclair; and six brothers, Welchie, Oscar, Ivan , Elwyn, Charles and Marlow.
