Local restaurants help Idaho's children

| March 9, 2007 8:00 PM

As president of Boundary County Education Association, I am requesting the community's participation in a state-wide program that supports the children of Idaho.

The Children's Fund is sponsored by educators all across our state. These educators make personal donations to this fund to help children in need. Any contributor can request funds for such things as food, clothing, shoes, glasses, medical needs, school supplies, household goods, etc.

In Boundary County, the children's fund has helped families who have had fires, disasters and other economic needs. These items are given directly to students. No funds go toward administrative costs.

As a fundraiser, Boundary County Education Association members are sponsoring a give away to raise money for the children's fund. Eleven restaurants from Boundary County and Bonner County have been generous enough to donate dinner for two and certificates to help generate money for the Children's Fund.

These restaurants include: Jill's Cafe, Beach House, Bangkok, Panhandle, Badger Den, Oriental Garden, Mugsy's Bar & Grill, Ivanos, Jalapenos, Slates and Trinity Cafe.

Tickets are on sale through the month of March and cost $5 for one or $10 for three. You may purchase tickets for the give away at the Hair Connection or drop by your local school. The drawing for the give away will be in early April. The lucky winner of the drawing will win dinner for two or certificates to all eleven restaurants.

Thank you, community members, for supporting the Children's Fund and caring about the children of Idaho.

Sincerely yours,

Francine Santoro
