Task Force reminds parents about spring parties

| May 11, 2007 9:00 PM

Dear Editor

It is spring and all across rural America teenagers are participating in outdoor parties. Many of these parties take place in isolated areas such as Forest Service land or private property.

These organized parties have been happening for many years in our county. Young adults also participate and have been responsible for violence towards teenagers resulting in serious injury.

Parents, please talk with your teenager about attending this type of party. Remind your child that their safety is at risk.

In addition, contact law enforcement if you know that a party is going to take place as their involvement could prevent illegal or violent activities.

Sincerely,

The Boundary County Task Force on Human Rights
