The Badger track team returned from the state track meet in Boise this weekend with medals and a trophy.

The girls team was able to snag the 3rd place trophy with 61 points. It was a close battle that went right down to the end. The girls were in second place by six points until the last event.

Without a relay team to score in the 1600 meter relay, South Freemont was able to place 2nd in the relay and score eight points to overcome their deficit to snatch the 2nd place trophy. Sugar Salem took the 1st place trophy with 96 points and Shelly took the 4th place trophy with 56 points.

Kaitie Poston kept her streak going with two more golds in her respective events of shot put (43'5") and discus (143'8").

Samantha Hiatt (10'), Camille Robertson (9'6"), and Samantha Kelly (8'6") went one, two, and seven in the pole vault to score 20 points in that event.

Samantha Hiatt also grabbed two bonze medals.

One in the high hurdles (16.9) and one in the 300 meter hurdles (48.76).

Casey Hampton was 7th in the 800 (2:30.43) and 6th in the 1600 (5:41.09). Melody Braden took 8th in the 1600 (5:48.32) and 6th in the 3200 (12:15.21).

For the boys, Daniel Botkin took 4th place in the 300 hurdles (41.17).

The boys 1600 meter relay team of Daniel Botkin, Javier Sale, John Heigel, and Colton Watt took the 5th place medal with a time of 3:32.91.

The Badger team would like to thank the support of the community throughout the year and the families who came down to Boise to cheer them on.
