Lack of outrage concerning Craig surprises writer

| October 26, 2007 9:00 PM

Given the fact we live in this wonderful bastion of conservative attitudes, I'm surprised at the lack of outrage and demand for Craig's removal from office.

Please note I did not say "Sen. Craig," as he no longer deserves the title.

My party has lived by the loyalty to one another since the Reagan days. I, on the other hand, do not believe in blind loyalty when it comes to business or politics.

Blind loyalty gives us scenarios we are currently going through with this Craig business. Hold their feet to the fire.

Guess I'll have to stick my head in the sand along with the majority and assume the Senate Ethics Committee will force Craig to resign. Ha. It is up to we the people to force him to resign.

I voted for Craig twice and gave to his campaign as well as various causes several times. We gave him a title, treated him with respect, and what did we get in return? You filter the information being thrown at us.

The slate is wiped clean of good, and sometimes great things we have done in our lives when we use our lofty positions to lie, cheat, or steal. He has lost his credibility and embarrassed all of us in this great state so his plea of still being able to accomplish legislative business on our behalf is now a moot point.

I'm old and certainly not the person who can throw the first stone toward anyone. Having said that, I don't want Craig to represent me for 15 more months.

What say our grass roots Republican Central Committee on this issue?
