Bonners Ferry High School's boys track team hopes to finish second in Intermountain League this year behind Timberlake, the two-time state champion and five-time league winner, according to head coach Travis Hinthorn.

Returning state competitors this year are Colton Watt, who placed in state for pole vault and will run hurdles this year; Jordon Stockton, who placed last year for jumps; and Curt Carey, who competed in the throwing events.

“Mark Chrisman will be our sprinting leader and Dylan Sweeney will lead the distance,” said Hinthorn.

With a greater than normal turnout of 20 boys, Hinthorn expects seniors Chrisman, Stockton and Carey and sophomores Sweeny and Watt to lead the team.

“They are leaders. They work hard and know what they are doing,” said Hinthorn. “The seniors have experience and sophomores have work ethic.”
