Something needs done about wolves
I have been blessed in spending a lot of my time enjoying Mother Nature.
Recently, I’ve encountered something both frightening and sickening. The wolf population in our county.
A few years ago, you could go up any mountain in Boundary County and see abundant wildlife. You could hunt successfully and be a selective hunter, passing up many for a good mature buck if you so wanted.
These vermin are changing that. They have lied to us about these animals. They have been glorified. In reality all they are, are blood-thirsty killers.
My hunting spots, a year ago, were covered in game. Now there is little game replaced by wolf sign — scat, tracks and bone piles left from wolf kills.
These animals have to be stopped if we wanted to hand down our hunting traditions to our children. I encourage everyone to write letters to the editor, to game officials, senators, congressmen. Our voices must be heard on this issue.
A couple more years like this one, and there won’t be enough wildlife game for a hunting season. There is a reason our ancestors eliminated them from the food chain.
It’s time to pull the wool away from our eyes and see the big picture. They are not needed in our ecosystem any longer.
Our voices need to be louder than those who recklessly think we still need them.
Do we really need wolves killing all our game? Do we really need animals that kill for sport, not just food? When the game runs out, they will go for our livestock.
I’m willing to do my part, but I can’t do it alone.
Whether you agree with me or not, I implore you to visit the Web site saveourelk.com. Look at all the problems they are causing. Then have two choices.
Help eradicate these ruthless killers or be a part of the problem.
Please feel free to contact me anytime, any place. I’m hard to miss. If you don’t know me, chances are someone you know does.
