Robert L. Mize Jr., 63

Robert L. Mize Jr., 63 passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at his home due to complications from lung cancer. He died quietly in his wife, Sandra’s arms.

A memorial service was held Sunday at Church of Christ in Bonners Ferry.

Robert was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Hempstead, N.Y., to Gladys and Robert Lee Mize Sr.

On Sept. 3, 1975, Robert married the former Sandra Kay Oakley.

Up until 2000, Robert was an electronic technician for San Juan Unified School District in California.  At that time he had a stroke and surgeries. Robert lost his mobility and suffered short-term memory loss.

In 2003, he and his wife moved to Bonners Ferry, where he wanted to live out his life. 

Robert was loved so much by so many and will be extremely missed. Love never dies.

Survivors include his wife; children Jodi of South Carolina, Genevieve and Shane, both of southern California, Raymond of Denver, Sarah of Sacramento, Calif., and Melissa and Lori, both of Bonners Ferry; sister Lynn Hawks; brother Michael Mize; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
