Tompke named Student of Month

| December 24, 2008 8:00 PM

Delta Kappa Gamma chose Taylor Tompke, son of Monica and Dwayne Lund, as December’s Student of the Month.

Taylor is a sophomore at Bonners Ferry High School and participates in football, track, robotics and the Technology Student Association.

Taylor enjoys archery, hunting, hiking and fishing. He recently hiked across the Boundary County with three other Bonners Ferry High School students and found it challenging, yet rewarding.

Taylor is considering either a career in architecture or engineering as he enjoys drafting and is good at math. Taylor describes himself as hardworking, busy and determined to finish jobs once he starts.

“Taylor T. rises to any challenge — he is the epitome of determination, but he does it with smile, a laugh, and an overall courtesy,” said English teacher Robert Neely.

Teacher Janis Tucker praises Taylor for being prepared, helpful to others, while being a quiet leader and leading by example.

Drafting teacher Warren Patzer wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Taylor to any employer and feels Taylor “can go anywhere and do anything with his talent and work ethic.”

Delta Kappa Gamma is a society of women educators that promotes personal and professional growth of its members and excellence in education. The local chapter includes women educators from the Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry areas.
