A Bonners Ferry woman awaiting trial for a teen's death faces more troubles.
Nicole L. Abraham, 22, was arrested Saturday for allegedly having marijuana, methamphetamines and drug paraphernaila, according to court records.
Two weeks ago, she was bound over to court for allegedly providing 16-year-old James "Jimmy" Wylie of Bonners Ferry with the drugs that led to his Dec. 11, 2006, death. Wylie, who was Abraham's boyfriend, was found dead at a home in Naples.
As for Abraham's latest troubles, Boundary County Sheriff's Office received a tip from an anonymous caller that she was driving from Coeur d' Alene transporting two ounces of marijuana.
After checking Abraham's background, Deputy Donald Vanmeter learned she had a suspended driver's license.
At 5:52 p.m., Vanmeter stopped Abraham's silver Ford Explorer on Highway 95 entering into Boundary County from Bonner County. After waiting for another car to pull out onto the highway, he saw a black and chrome case in the middle of the road that he believed Abraham had thrown out of her vehicle.
Police checked on the case, while Vanmeter pulled over Abraham and arrested her for a suspended driver's license.
Bonners Ferry reserve officer Willie Cowell radioed Vanmeter, letting him know that there were drugs in and around the chrome box, including two glass pipes, bags with methamphetamine residue, several small decorated baggies, 3.1 ounces of marijuana and a digital scale.
Vanmeter than searched Abraham's vehicle and found a small amount of methaphedimines in the car.
She is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphinilia and misdemeanor driving without privileges.
Boundary County Sheriff's Narcotic Detective Cpl. Dave Schuman is conducting further investigations.
Abraham appeared in court Monday and is being held on a $520,000 bail.
