Wrestlers to host home match Friday against Timberlake

Bonners Ferry High School Wrestlers will host their only home match of the season at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the gymnasium.

For their Senior Night, the Badgers will take on Timberlake.

Bonners Ferry was scheduled to wrestle at home last Thursday through Saturday. Everything was canceled due to the snow, said head coach Conrad Garner.

"This was first (in my 21 years)," Garner said about canceling the Bonner Ferry Tourney, which was set for last Saturday.

The Badgers were scheduled to wrestle Kellogg and Lakeland high schools on Thursday, Jan. 31. That was canceled after both schools and Bonners Ferry were closed due to snow.

Lakeland was scheduled to return with Lake City and Timberlake on Friday, Feb. 1.

"Between 11 and noon, their transportation departments canceled their travel," Garner said.

A Saturday, Feb. 2, winter storm warning resulted in no go for the Bonners Ferry tournament, which will not be rescheduled.

"None of the other teams want to compete prior to districts," Garner said.

Districts will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in Post Falls.

Bonners Ferry junior varsity wrestles will compete against Coeur d'Alene at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
